It's Saturday. I'm currently crying while writing this. So is my 3-year-old son. Apparently Paw Patrol isn't going to cut it today and my son is letting me know it. Loudly. It's been 3 days since my husband went back to his deployment assignment, and we are all missing him. I feel so lonely without him. I know that I'm not alone, but I feel lonely without my companion. I've never felt this way before. I've always been a "I'm good on my own" kind of gal. That hasn't rung true as of late.

This separation from my husband has forced me to appreciate his presence more than anything. I want him here, home, with us. Where he should be. That's just not the life we live as a military family. There will be times when he is gone for long periods of time. Like this year long deployment we are currently halfway through.

It's times like these... the lonely moments... when I really rely on the Lord. My relationship with my heavenly Father has deepened during this deployment. I seek Him out more than I ever have before. Needing His supernatural strength and energy to be all I need to be for my children while their Daddy is away. Knowing I can't be their everything, even if my husband were home, causes me to remember that the only person that can be our all is the Lord. This deployment constantly pushes my focus back to Jesus. Where it should always be.

When times get hard or we're having an emotional moment it's important what we do in those moments. Will we rely on our might and try to cope in our own way? Or will we run to the Father where our ultimate help comes from? We all are going through something. We all

have our own things we are going through.

How do you handle hardships and tough times. What do you turn to in your time of need? I hope it's to the one who supplies our every need. If it's not, there's still time to turn to Him. Jesus said, "Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest" (Matthew 11:28). Run to the Lord with your everything and watch Him do a great work with it.
