Fill My Cup... With What?

I was gifted this mug by a sweet and dear friend of mine, and I absolutely adore it. Not just because of the white and gold design (which I love!) but also because of what it says, "Fill Your Cup" (Alexa play Fill My Cup by Cece Winans). So of course whenever I'm drinking from the mug I get to thinking about what my cup is filled with. By now you can guess I'm not just referring to the deliciously hot Pikes Roast StarBucks blend that I drink every morning... and sometimes afternoon because, that Mom life lol. I'm talking about myself in general. My spiritual, mental, and physical cups [see what I did there]. What am I filling myself with? that is question up for discussion.

I'm guilty of filling up on all the wrong things at times. From what I'm eating/drinking to what I'm watching or listening to. From gossip to relationships, it is so easy to be full of a bunch of stuff that hold no benefits for my life. When I'm stressed I tend to fill up on comfort foods. When I'm down its quite possible that you'll find me in the Walmart clearance section... because that $7 Cheetah print top will make me feel a thousand times better right?! Nope. After I'm stuffed with too much food and I've spent money I didn't budget for I've still got to deal with the root causes of whatever is going on. I then come to realize that instead of being satiated with things, I've got to fill myself up with the Word of God.

In John 4 when the woman at the well encountered Jesus she was definitely full of the wrong stuff. Searching for something in the all wrong places (and the wrong men). She was so busy questioning the motives of Christ, so caught up in the water at the well, that she didn't

even recognize all that she needed was found in the one speaking directly to her. Jesus Christ Himself. He said " Anyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again. But those who drink the water I give will never be thirsty again. It becomes a fresh, bubbling spring within them, giving them eternal life" (vs 13-14 NLT). I don't know about you but I want to be filled with Jesus, and not just stuff. Because if I'm full of Him then I won't need anything else. So today I challenge you to take inventory of whats got you full. What are you filling up on? If its not what it should be then lets change that.

Sip on some Jesus today, and be filled by His spirit!
