Stuck on You [God]

Sometimes we go through things in our lives that make it seem like God isn’t there. I believe we as a people have a hard time believing that our God, who is so good and so great would allow hard and sometimes, bad things to happen to us. For me it was being sexually abused at a young age. It wasn’t just about being molested by family members. It was everything that came along with it. All of the emotional and mental damage that it caused me. All the long-term issues and addiction that it created in my life. Where was God in all that? For a long time it was really hard for me to believe that God had any hand of good in my life. Out of all of it the major thing that I’ve learned is that God is ALWAYS there. And whatever He allows, He does so with great intentions. In the good and bad times. We may not understand why He allows what He allows. Why He seems to take His time in one situation but then comes quickly in another. If you’re anything like me not knowing something, not having answers, can be mentally crippling. I can’t operate if I don’t know what I’m operating with, right? Wrong. We were never suppose to understand the ways of God. That’s not our job. Our finite minds could never handle the intricate details of the work of God. Our job is to trust Him. Believe Him when He says “For I know the plans I have for you. Plans to prosper and not harm you. Plans to give you hope and a future” (Jeremiah 29:11). Having faith that He will always be there for us, no matter what we go through, THAT is our job. The story of Joseph is by far my favorite bible story. Joseph was betrayed by family and abandoned. Forgotten by those who said they’d remember him and despised by those who should’ve loved him. Then lied on and imprisoned for it (If you haven’t before, head on over to Genesis 37 and get all the details) all because Joseph was favored by God. Promised at an early age that he would rule Egypt. That favor was with Joseph in every situation he found himself in. From slave, to prisoner, to ruler. God was WITH him. The entire time! And you know something? Joseph never doubted God’s presence OR His plan for him. He trusted God. He stayed “Stuck” on God and His promises. And while he did that God stayed “Stuck” on him too. So whatever you’re going through don’t doubt God’s hand in it. He is there with you. He is “Stuck on you”. Don’t let your situation or circumstance tell you any different. He will never leave you, no matter what you have done, are doing now, or will do. His love is never changing and ever available to all who call upon His name and believe in Him (Romans 10:9-13)
Stay stuck on God, He’s always stuck on you.
